"You can't beat this table for the price. I've been looking for a while & would have loved to get an antique, but my attic is just not accessible enough. Because you can assemble this table where you need it, it easily overcomes a tight staircase or doorway. It's also easy to assemble & seems to be sturdy. I can't wait to try it for my first painting project!"

Happy wit Desk with one exception

"I like the desk, its quality, its appearance, its functionality, its price, the clarity of the instructions, the accuracy of the sizing, the holes, the fit of the pieces. I am enjoying using it and would recommend it to others. It has one correctable characteristic for which I have a simple solution to suggest. It has a sway from side to side which I believe could be prevented if the two pieces marked "H" in the Assembly Sketch 2 - Down Stand Panels (I/J) were deeper, say 6" in stead of 2" deep, and if these had 2 bolts at each end in stead of 1. This would create a much more rigid frame work and it could not sway with this added depth and bolts. If you want to send me the 6 replacement I, H & J Pieces and 4 additional bolts I will dismantle and reassemble mine and be your "beta" tester for this solution. Whether corrected or not, I like my desk, recommend it and am enjoying using it every day in my home office. "Gooddesk""

"For the money this desk is great! My husband said it was easy to put together. It is real wood and looks great. The only bad thing to say is that it is a little shaky. But for the price we and my 13 year old son are happy!"

"I really like the look of my drawing table. The only thing that isn't good about it is the drawers. There seems to be a problem with their fit. I read what was suppose to be a remedy for their fit, but it doesn't seem to work. Other than that, I am very pleased with it."

"Visually, the desk is very appealing. The quality of the materials seems to be good and overall assembly was relatively easy. You will need 2 people for the final steps of attaching the top to the desk.
However, the overall stability of the desk isn't great. Everything is connected correctly and tightened securely, but the desk seems a bit wobbly. Certainly not like other desks we have ordered from this site (2 of them). For this reason, I would not recommend this particular desk."

"I love my new table — the colour is rich and the size is perfect. You do need a 2nd set of hands to attach the top to the base, but other than that, I assembled it on my own in a matter of 2-3 hours (I wasn't rushing!).
One of the prior reviews said that the drawers wouldn't fit into the slots and I found this to be true, but that was only because I had tightened the screws too much, so once slightly loosened, the drawers slid right into place and I then retightened and all was well. I found this 'over-tightening issue' to be a problem in a couple of instances, so it would've been good for the instructions to mention that. Otherwise, a great purchase!"

"What we were most impressed with was the design of the wooden dowels and fasteners which were designed so you could not possible put any parts together backwards, etc. Made assembly a breeze. Looks like a desk you would pay 4 times as much for in a furniture store."

"Works very well as a drafting table and workstation. Doesn't have the usual drab pre-fabricated look. Had some challenges with parts of the instructions and making the drawers fit after assembly but overall happy with the product."

"I purchased this as a surprise for my husband who is finishing his architect's license. I haven't actually put it together yet but I've seen all the pieces and they look well constructed. I took the advice of another review and got some supports to keep it from wobbling. I actually purchased some really neat corner brackets off ebay to use instead of just another piece of stained wood. I'm also planning on adding different drawer pulls to class it up a little. I'll be sure to add a picture when I'm done!"

"After having assembled it (3 hours), realized that one of the drawer spaces is too small (for either of the drawers, even though each of them fits in the other space). The entire piece was assembled EXACTLY as per the instructions, and revised. Once assembled, it is impossible to repack it and return it in order to get an actual functional desk."

"This writing desk is a very well made piece (no wood laminate) and the overall design is good. Assembly was problem free with no parts missing. The only flaw with this desk (and thus only 4 stars) is that it is wobbly because of a simple engineering mistake. The lower part of the legs need corner braces to give the unit sturdiness which would have cost about two dollars to add on. I added these pieces and the desk is perfect now. Amazing how something so simple was overlooked."

"Well thought out design and good dimensions. Good fittings and locking device. Easy to assemble and more sturdy than the reviews suggested. The packing and finish was about right for the price. However, be cautious about pairing this desk with higher-end pieces as it may appear to be out of its league."

"I received my table with no great scratches or imperfections other. Beautiful. When I saw all of the parts the task looked daunting, but with my self & a friend. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the instructions were extremely clear, good pictures & directions & all parts accounted for. It is now sitting in my work area & it looks beautiful, The great advantage to buying furniture that you assemble yourself is that you save a lot of money. The price was low for this type of furniture. I had no problems whatsoever. As with all furniture that has a veneer, scratching is always a concern. I prefer stained & varnished wood, but the price is very high when you go that way. This will serve me well for many years. The workmanship on the piece is sound. I am satisfied with this purchase. I purchased this because it serves as a desk & a drafting table. Looks really love;y in my room. I also read a review where someone said it wobbles because of the heavy top. I feel the tiny bit of wobble is normal & not excessive."

"I bought this desk for my husband who builds model cars as his hobby. Being able to angle the top has helped him a lot. He's very happy with his new desk and I'm very happy with his clean new work area.
I was able to put the desk together by myself. It was easy and didn't take a lot of time to put assemble.
My niece is also looking for the same type of desk and I've already recommended it to her."

"I hadn't really planned on purchasing a writing table - but it was on sale, plus thought it would be more convenient since the lid of the table tilts.
when i received the table, i didn't realize how big it was - its wider than an average personal student desk. It was also very easy to assemble [as I actually did most of the assembling!] except you may need help at the last portion, only because the lid itself is pretty heavy and you'll need to balance the lid while screwing in the rivets for the hinges.
it looks great [i feel transported to back in the days when people used quills] and works great."

"My only complaint is that you need two people to put together & two people to adjust the height on the desk.

"While I would recommend this drafting table to others for the value and moderate level of assembly, I was somewhat disappointed in the quality of workmanship. The table top arrived a bit marred and discolored, and my printer even makes it sway from side-to-side. Still yet, all the parts were included and it went together in just a few hours."
