"The bookcase came and we were delighted until it came out of the box looking more orange not red oak as the dark oak color had been described in other reviews. We considered returning it but due to weight, it was heavy, it would have been an inconvenience. So we put it together to see if the overall color improved. We wondered if the Macintosh Oak might not have matched better but we had never heard of it and our furniture is all dark oak. So we sanded it and restained it. It looks great now and matches but it was more work than we had bargained for, yet worth it rather than be annoyed that it didn't match."

"Nice bookcase except the color does not match much. Has more of an medium brown color with lost of orange hues to it. Otherwise nice style and appearance. A little high on cost."

"After waiting for 2 months for delivery. I was disappointed with this purchase. It is crudely crafted; there are imperfections in the glass used in the doors. In some cases the pre-drilled screw holes in the back did not align with the back panels. I've had to purchase additional hardware to secure a door knob, since the tapped holes in the knob did not properly fit the provided screw.This item, although having good appearance, is found to be crude upon close inspection. I feel this item is overpriced."

"Should have paid more attention to the bad reviews. This piece would be great if the finish was dark oak. Unfortunately, it is actually orange, and I do mean orange with wood grain. Try another finish. Other than that, it is just what I was looking for."
