"Unit was pretty straightforward to assemble, although the back panel is a little difficult with just one person - it can be difficult to get the holes lined up properly. Only other minor complaint is that the doors only have a simple guide assembly, so that the doors can shift around when pulled out or pushed in. But, then again, I'm not paying an outrageous sum for the unit, either, and they are workable."

"This piece looks great. The instructions are pretty straightforward, clear, and all items were labeled correctly. Assembly went relatively smoothly. Overall workmanship is not as pleasing and I will detail this here. The track for the barrister doors features very little actual hardware, and the doors can open unevenly. Don't expect to find sturdy drawer-like guides on these doors, they are not there. The cam locks that hold the shelves and sides together are of inferior quality (one twisted up and completely tore itself out of the shelf during my assembly, and I was only hand-tightening with the included tool) - L brackets/wood pieces and screws or a similar setup could have made things more sure, more sturdy, without the cheap bendy-metal cam locks. I would expect better quality overall for the price paid, and tighter construction, less gaps between doors/shelves. One side of my bookcase was also notably warped, right out of the box."

"We bought four of these barristers for a library setting in our house. Assembly is tricky, the first one I wound up taking apart several times to get it right, the instructions are very sketchy and perhaps suggest assembly in the wrong order. I found putting the bookcases together, moving into place, and then attaching the very heavy glass doors worked better, since the assembled case weighs 130 lbs. The doors are high quality. Several pieces are solid oak, although there is some veneer. Hardware is surprisingly high quality. The new price is much better, we were watching these bookcases for a year waiting for a price break, and were not disappointed. Assembly took about 3 hours for the first one and 2 hours each for the others. I agree with the previous review, the backs are not very well marked and you do need to line everything up before deciding how to attach. The darn piece stickers should be eliminated, you can't get them off and you don't really need them. These are made in China, not the USA."

"This bookcase was mistakenly ordered in the wrong color, but the vendor was extremely helpful straightening out our mistake. Everthing arrived in a timely fashion and in very good condition. I had a little trouble with the backs, as they can go on in any of about 6 different ways, and only one combination is right. The machine work on the parts is so accurate and symetrical, that the perimeter screw holes line up in any combination! The clue was that the center screwholes for the shelves DO NOT line up unless the backs are in the proper orientation."
