"Looks great and the method of assembly is good. The cabinet slides are all pre-mounted which avoids alignment problems that can arise even with pre-drilled holes. The only problem I had was when I went to install the large drawers. They just don't seem to fit. They need quite a bit of force to get them to close but once in place they work reasonably well if needing a firm push/pull. All the late drawers were equally tight. The drawers were all assembled properly and were dimensionally correct but they just fit REALLY tight. These drawers have ball bearing roller slides but on two of the drawers one ball bearing fell out yet the slides and drawers seem to work well. The smaller drawers are a different, simpler slide which works well. I suspect that the roller slides were used to help ensure alignment which is very important not just for function but for looks with this piece.
The cabinet looks fantastic but I did notice it is very easily scratched."

"We did not want to spend a lot for a home office no one really sees but us yet we wanted it to look nice for us. This furniture really met those needs. Looks great, low cost and not too hard to assemble so long as you follow directions."

Nice Home Office Filing Cabinet

"Great product - this filing cabinet looks fantastic! More like furnature then office equipment. I gave it a 4 out of 5 on appearance b/c while the black finish is smooth most over, in putting it together, I found a couple of drips in the painted finish (something i do not notice now that its all together). I gave it a 4 out of 5 for workmanship for the fact that the pilot holes that are predrilled for the metal guides that the drawers move back and forth on created too big a hole and made the screws unable to bite and not stay in place. This was easily fixed by putting the screws directly into the sides (without drilling new holes) - the metal guides offer several other locations to be able to affix the screw. I put the screws into the original pilot holes to have the guide in the correct location then added other screws to further secure the part. Anyway, other than that... I thought the project was quite easy to put together. I use it mostly for archieved files so I don't access it a lot, but have not had any problems with the drawers moving properly :o)"

"I love my new cabinet. It's very sturdy and went together well. It took a long time to assemble, but was worth it. The wood is solid, the drawers slide smoothly.
The shipping boxes (3) arrived on 2 separate days and looked a little bit battered, but inside, the parts were fine.
The directions were clear and easy to follow.
I would recommend this cabinet."

"The cabinet is very handsome looking. Assembly took some time, complicated by the fact that the three drawers came with the left side only. Home decorators sent the replacement part, but it took over a week to receive them.
Lots of space and an improvement over the old files."

"This is a nice looking file cabinet. It took my husband and I approximately 5 hours (2.5hours at two different times)to put it together. It wasn't that difficult and all of the materials were in the package. HOWEVER; be aware that the file drawer slides that come installed on the sides of the cabinet needed to be refastened with larger screws. The ones that were in place were very loose and when we put the file drawers in the cabinet, three of them fell off of the sides. We were very lucky to have a large selection of screws in the house and we refastened the slides with longer screws.
Other than that, the piece is really attractive and a good deal for the price. I am considering ordering the matching desk."

"We liked the look of this cabinet, but when we received it we were very disappointed. The cabinet was poor quality, difficult to assemble, the parts just did not match up. Once it was together the drawers did not slide. After spending several hours playing with the drawers we finally got them to slide... the runners kept getting jammed... we finally were able to get the drawers to close, but when i added 5 files to the drawer the runners attached to the cabinet fell off the side... screws and all. Home decorators did send me a replacement but we still had to spend several hours reassembling it. Would not order again."

"This is a great piece. I can file papers in it and store stuff, too. The height is great, because it's high enough that when I'm standing, I use the piece as a work surface for sorting and organizing papers. I'm thinking about getting two for my craft room, and pushing them back to back and "floating" them in the center of the room. Then I could use them to store craft patterns, guide books, photos for future scrapbooks, and some craft materials. Again, it would be a good height for me to stand and work on craft projects. (Especially, when cutting out fabric and other materials.)"

"I was really pleasantly surprised when it came. It looks really really nice, has detailing not often seen in other pieces in the price range.
The directions were OUTSTANDING--VERY easy to follow. Not hard to put together.
The ONLY drawback is that the file folder drawers are not as big as the "typical" drawers, so if you are transfering from a standard file cabinet, your files will be a bit more squashed. Also the drawers do not fully extend.
Overall, I am very very pleased."
