"My husband and I put this piece together in under 4 hours! It was labeled really well and the instructions were easy to follow. We took all the pieces out of the packaging and organized them alphabetically so it made it a lot easier when it came time to assemble having everything right where we knew it should be. It is a very heavy piece and very sturdy. I'm very happy with this purchase and would order it again."

"I looked and looked for a desk that closed up to hide all of my clutter, and also had tons of storage. This fits my needs perfectly. It is a very nice looking piece of furniture, and I love all of the storage, especially the four filing drawers. Two important things to note: 1) don't count on too much "distressing" - this is a black piece of furniture with occasional red marks, which I dont' love but are not that obvious; and 2) it is a big job to put together. It took my husband about 3 hours total. That said, I have no regrets and highly recommend this desk."

Can anyone tell us how large the upper and side cabinets are? Id like to store the printer there but cant tell if it will fit or not. Love the rest of the piece, especially the 4 file drawers but am hesitant to purchase without knowing what space is behind the doors.

"Very happy with this unit. Tons of storage, good quality, and excellent assembly instructions. All parts clearly labeled and easy to assemble, despite doing it by myself. Two people would be best. Maybe the best purchase on furniture I have ever made."

"The armoire is a sturdy, attractive piece of furniture well worth the price and time spent in assembly. Be prepared to spend a considerable amount of time of assembly because there are over 400 pieces and while everything fits really well it still takes a lot of time to assemble. I assemble the unit myself and spend over 8 hrs on the task but that is how they can keep the price so low. buy with confidence."

"When I saw the desk online it looked like a nice piece for my office. Putting it together was not fun. Every step of the way you felt like it was just going to fall apart. It is very cheaply made. They tried to give it an antique look but it really just looks like someone put scratches all over the wood and tried to cover it up with a reddish color marker. If you don't stand too close, it looks decent but all in all it is not a high quality piece. You get what you pay for."

"I have been waiting to purchase this desk for over a year. I was waiting for free shipping. I finally ordered the desk then it went on free shipping then it went on sale. I called HDC and they honored both the shipping and sale price. I was extremly impressed with the customer service. I love the desk, it holds everything and more. My husband put it together and it took a few hours. He said the cams do not hold as well as he would have liked, they pull out when you try to move it. But it is now in place and works great. I wish I had purchased it soooner."

"This is a beautiful piece! Has a TON of storage and was easy to put together. I built it by myself up to the point I needed to lift it - it weighs a ton - and I did need some assistance in attaching the doors. I used a manual phillips for all but the backing. At that point I would definetly recommend a power drill or you will be there all day! Overall this is a really nice piece. However, I do feel the price is a bit high only because it didn't come pre-built."

"I received this item within the time expected and in good condition (only 1 piece was slightly damaged, but not noticeable). I purchased this on sale in "antique white." While it is a piece that has nice lines and good storage space, it isn't top quality and the color--as other reviewers noted--is not as pictured or advertised. It was a kind of flat gold (i.e. mustard yellow with a tinge of green), but I had expected to paint over the original and changed out the plain wooden knobs for antique brass ones as well. It turned out very nice, but I wouldn't recommend doing all this unless you're good with a brush and have lots of patience (there are MANY pieces). Most of the pre-drilled holes were in the right places, except for some that were meant for one of the desk support chains (they were a good 2" off). One major flaw was that one of the interior vertical pieces was cut incorrectly: 1/4-inch too short and without 2 notches. As a result, the camlocks could not lock properly and I had to reinforce the area with some metal brackets. The runners on the four file drawers aren't high quality, so I won't be using them for holding files, as I had planned. They would not stand up to the weight over time, but they are fine for storing lighter items. The company did offer a discount coupon or a refund to me after I told them about the short piece, so I was satisfied with their customer service. Identifying stickers on each of the pieces were kind of a pain to get off. Assembly wan't too bad, but you do need more than one person to maneuver piece. Fully assembled, it is VERY heavy. I put felt sliders on the feet (before loading it up) to make it easier to move it when necessary."

"I am really enjoying this office center. It was just what I needed to organize and have everything in one place and I really like the look of this piece. The craftsmanship is really good and it is heavy so you will not need to replace in a few years like other desks and such that I have purchased. Keep in mind that this comes in several boxes and they are really heavy so you will need help with them. My husband assembled this piece in a few hours with little or no complication. The only thing missing was one knob and when I called customer service they were great. Very nice and helpful and placed a parts order within a matter of minutes. I received the missing knob within a few days. I am very happy with this selection and I will purchase from Home Decorators again in the future."

"My husband assembled this in about 4 hours. He commented that the parts were numbered and packaged very well for ease of assembly. The only problem he really had was with the door hinges. It was almost impossible to get doors to align and he felt a better quality hinge would help. My only suggestion would be that the storage areas could use more shelves. Too much wasted storage space due to height of middle double door area not having anything to separate a large storage area. Other than that, I love the fact that I can just close it up and it's a nice piece of furniture. I also love the file storage. My last computer desk only had one file drawer and I couldn't store all the files that I use daily. Good quality for the price. I would purchase again."

"I was very pleased with the quality of the item, but somewhat surprised by the color. It is billed as antique white, but is actually a pale yellow. Although I like the color it is not what I expected and need to redecorate my room because of the difference in color."

"Putting together took the 6 hours as indicated, but went smooth. Only disappointing part is the finish. I expcected the holes as shown on the site, but not the big red gouges on every (EVERY) panel. On the edges I get to show as antique, but in the middle of each panel looks stupid."

"I was hesitant at first when I saw some reviewers stating they had difficulty putting this desk together and that holes didn't line up, plus I was worried about the desk being damaged in transit as I had read in a couple reviews. All my fears were put to rest when I received the Harwick Office Center, grant it I timed it right and was home when UPS delivered it so the driver brought all 6 LARGE boxes up to the main level of my house. The desk was well packed with enough packing to protect the pieces, the instructions were fairly straight forward with nearly all pieces marked accordingly, and it was easy to put together. It is true that you really need roughly 4 hours to put it together as the pieces are huge, and there are lots of them. All of the holes lined up, I just needed a flashlight to notice where the holes were on some pieces as I chose the black Harwick Office Center. The pictures on the website don't do it justice as it is huge, thankfully I saw the measurements so I was able to find a spot for it in my family room using my measuring tape. This was an exceptional purchase, so I give it 5 stars across the board except for workmanship which i would really give it 4.5 stars but there is no half star rating, the reason being is all the pieces have a noticeable red streak on them, I imagine this is from a conveyor system marking them as they glide by to get an accurate count during the packing process, still I was hoping it was crayon that could be wiped away, alas this is not the case so touch up black paint is necessary as on some pieces the red mark is deep. I also wish there were optional punch out holes in the backboard to locate peripherals on other shelves i.e. the big shelf on top has no way to place a printer there without creating your own hole.
I am pleased it was able to hold both my 22" LCD monitors, I wish it was just a tad bit deeper as my desktop computer was not able to fully fit on the bottom shelf hence the reason I had to leave the bottom doors off as it hangs off a bit. This is probably a good thing to aid in ventilation of the desktop since I leave it on a majority of the time."

"I love this desk. It has so much room, I am able to store my computer, printer and supplies. I also love the 4 filling cabinets. I really appreciate the extra space for filling, something my previous desk was lacking. I am very glad I made this purchase, I was hesitant when I read the reviews regarding the assembly. I'm considering buying this, but I'm not sure my gigantic monitor will fit into the drop-down computer compartment and there are no dimensions listed for that opening. Can you tell me how tall that part is? I'd really appreciate it!
