"This is a big cabinet. The instructions are easy. Took a few hours. I got the cherry finish. It matches the website picture. The doors needed to be tweaked but any real man who knows the basics about woodwork should have no problems tweaking. They should include some small finish pieces to cover the cams, but these can be purchased on the Internet for a few bucks. Overall a very nice piece and I would recommend to anyone who is not a furniture snob."

"Purchased for our basement rec area. When we finished assembling it and stood it up, the middle leg broke off right away. Two doors on the right hand side did not line up perfectly. There is a knot in one of the vertical supports that has a crack in it. Assembly took about 2 - 3 hours. There were a couple things that needed an extra set of hands but basically one person can do it. I do not believe this piece could be easily disassembled for moving and it would be difficult to move it as is. Once it is together, it will stay where it is. But all in all, it serves the purpose for which it was intended and it looks pretty good."

"First, the color is a ghastly RED, not dark cherry. We had to go buy some dark stain and try to tone it down. Second, with the high shipping cost plus factoring in the time to put them together (not difficult but very tedious) it just was not a good value. Doesn't look like good quality either."

"Overall it's a nice piece of furniture, but I was dissppointed with the color. I expected DARK cherry, but what I got is red cherry. The color is just too red (with hints of pink), and bright to be described as DARK cherry. I'm keeping it because it's just too difficult to return, but I would not have chosen this color in the store; it just doesn't really match the rest of our furniture. I will repaint it eventually."

"I ordered this to hold my children's toys behind the doors, and their books on the lower shelves. I put most of it together easily myself with a little help from my husband. Other reviewers had metioned the doors not lining up but mine line up nicely and work correctly. The wall fasteners that come with the unit don't take into account space behind the unit for trim (ours is pretty thick), thus my husband attached it to the wall via another method. I definitely wanted it attached to the wall since I have a toddler. I like that all the shelves are adjustable (even the shelves in the door cabinets). Love the shelving unit, and have gotten many compliments on it. Wonderful price and shipping too!"

"I purchased two of these large shelving units for my library and so far have been quite pleased. These units look fantastic compared to others in the same price range. The only con is that the doors don't line up 100%. This flaw is not at all noticeable unless you are inspecting the shelving units closely. I would recommend these shelves to anyone."

"I had been searching for an affordable double/triple bookcases for the last several months to go in my new house. As I had recently moved, I was on a very tight budget.
The value (price for what you receive) of this bookcase is incredible. The bookcase is sturdy and looks wonderful.
However, there is one design imperfection---the doors to the cabinets are not aligned correctly. While it does not hamper the function of the doors, there is a slight unevenness that may cause OCD owners to be upset.
I personally found it very minor and am overall very pleased with my purchase."

"This bookcase was exactly what I was looking for but couldn't find in stores near me for anything near the price. The assembly definitely takes two people for the double bookcase.
Assembly was straightforward although some of the steps seemed to be taken out of sequence and if I had to assemble another, I would do it more logically.
The finished product boasts a rich feel as shown in the catalog and on-line. The manufacturer didn't skimp on shelves - there are more than enough. The bookcase can take alot of weight on each shelve without "bowing". I've got mine filled with books already and the piece still looks great.
The one major con is that the doors don't hang completely straight but that is not visible unless you're on the floor and looking at them from that height. When standing, neither I nor a friend could tell that they weren't perfect. I am very pleased with this purchase and so will you be."

"Overall its a nice looking bookcase. The doors on the bottom don't line up but it's workable. I was a little disappointed that the bookcase needed to be attached to the wall. I thought it would be sturdy enough to stand on it's own. A few dings and scratches upon arrival. Definitley read the directions and follow the pictures. We attached and re-attached one of the sides.Instructions a little hard to follow. It would be nice it they included something to cover up the screws. We had some plastic covers left over from a desk we ordered from another store that worked nicely."

"I love the size of the bookcase. I like being able to move the shelves to whatever space I need. I can put puzzles and Lego boxes in the cabinets and close the door. Lots of storage space and places for me to put my family pictures and things. What I dont like is: the holes you do not use for shelves, show up too much. It cuts back on the look of quality I would like. The doors on the bottom cabinets have a little bit of a gap at the top or bottom. I would like them to fit better."

"I really like the clean, sophisticated look and functionality of this bookcase. I ordered mine in dark cherry and the color is warm and beautiful. The workmanship was not as great as other products I've purchased from Home Decorators - the front bottom rail was a tiny bit short, but I'm not sure anyone would notice if they didn't know. Also, one of the doors doesn't line up quite right with the others. Again, perhaps something only I will notice. The pieces did have a couple little nicks and scratches upon arrival. Overall, it was quite easy to assemble. However, I gave a moderate rating under assembly because the directions were rather challenging. Definitely take time to put thought into it as you assemble and MAKE SURE your pieces are oriented correctly as per the pictures. Otherwise you could end up assembling it more than once. The instructions say it takes two to assemble, but I did it myself no problem - took about 5 hours. Aside from the couple flaws I already mentioned, this is a great bookcase. Perfect size, and I love having the cabinets down below for storing things. Very sturdy as well, with nice detail."

"I ordered the "blonde" oak bookcases because they looked like they would match my hard wood floor. Boy was I wrong! I understand a computer monitor can "alter" colors a tad, but my dang bookcases came in a REDDISH RUST COLOR!! I was told I could probably change the color to my liking, but there is a satin finish on this product and it cannot be done.
One review said the doors didn't match up. On one bookcase they did, on the other I had to order another set. It took over 5 hours (for both) to put them together and unless you brackett them to the wall, they are wobbly. Also, the support blocks under both bookcases broke.
I opted to keep the bookcases as I just didn't have the energy to send them back. I am hoping once I get the shelves where I want them and decorated, they will grow on me.
Home Decorators offers a lot of nice things. I would not recommend these cases unless you plan on bolting them to the wall and painting them."

"Product was damaged in more than one place but after unwrapping 3 huge boxes (which didn't even arrive on the same days) and completing about 4 hours of assembly who's going to ship it back at that point? Quality not as good as led to believe."
