"I thought this would be nicer for the price. Considering you have to put it together it isn't a great bargain but it is hard sometimes to find what you like and I like how this piece looks. I read all the reviews about how difficult it was to put together but my 20-something son put it together in a little less than an hour. No problems whatsoever. The one nice thing about this piece is that it is solid wood (except the back) and most others are veneer over pressed wood. One last thing: the shipment came in two different boxes, which would not have been so bad if they had come on the same day!"

"The unit looks very nice just need extra nails to make it more tightly on the top cover. Once you put stuff in, it looks like something from the decoration magzine. Easily to create elegant atomosphere. Also, if artificial plants arranged near it,,,,,,, wa, la,!!!"

"This piece was fairly easy to put together until it came time to put the already assembled glass doors into place. They do not sit properly in the case. They are lopsided as if the case were not level. Checked with my level and the case is level. Had to put shims in place until I decide wether or not to move the wheels on the bottom of each door."

"Despite a good looking finished product, my particular purchase really was not that easy to assemble. All the holes were too small for the pegs and nuts and whatever else, even the shelf holding pegs had to be hammered in and used a plier to get them out to adjust. I had to hammer in most of the wood pegs and one went into the wrong hole and I could not get it out. The turning bolts with the screw insertion is such a bad idea. It is not a sturdy hold at all yet every put together furniture uses it. I ended up reinforcing the edges with L supports. Again the end result is nice but too much work for the price."

"The instructions were a bit confusing - we set hardware pieces incorrectly because the drawing was unclear.
The left side panel was warped and had to be replaced. Although, the replacement process was incredibly simple - we identified what need replacing, including the hardware and had the piece within a week."

"A few small issues to mention: The stain color (light cherry) does not exactly match another light cherry file cabinet I had bought previously. Stain colors and selection are not consistent across their product line, so you can't always get pieces in matching (or almost matching) stain colors.
The side panels had a very subtle bowing that was not apparent during assembly, but when I installed the shelves there was too much space and they didn't fully engage the support pins. I had to remove the rear panel, turn it on its side and apply downforce to remove the bow, and then reattach the back panel. It's fine now."

"I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET THE TWELVE SHELF BOOKCASE IN OAK OF THIS MODEL. SO I TOOK A CHANCE AND ORDERED TWO BOOKCASE FIVE SHELF, W/SLIDING GLS DOORS AND SLID THEM TOGETHER, PERFECT, AND ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. THEY HAVE PLENTY OF SHELF SPACE. THEIR APPEARANCE IS LIKE SOMETHING THAT WOULD BE IN A HOME MAGAZINE."

"Bought 2 to use as media storage units. Beautiful color, easy to follow directions and assembly was straightforward. Very nice looking pieces. Delivered when expected. Only issue was relatively hefty price, inability to use discount coupon (expired), and pressed particle board (tho not flimsy) rather than solid wood used in material. Finished nicely and look good, especially with glass; just a bit too expensive for the product to merit high value IMHO. Oh yeah, one came with a scratch on the inside, I have yet to contact the company to get resolution."

"Kind of complicated to assemble but I did it myself in a couple of hours. Looks good and functions OK. The shelf placement is limited (not enough holes for the shelf supports) so only really 4 shelves for books and 2 shelves for very short things. More holes would give 5 functional shelves for books. Kind of too bad...."

"After a difficult building process I found that the sliding doors do NOT align with the frame of the bookcase. This results in a noticeable gap when the doors are 'closed'. May not be something that bugs most people, but once you see it you can't stop looking at it!"

"I was very happy indeed with our 12 shelf bookcase. With all these kinds of products I find a little extra effort makes for a very solid product: first I mark the halfway point on the wooden dowels then glue one end with wood glue and tap them into place. Tap them a little past the halfway mark. Then WAIT for 24 hours. In the final stage I glue all wood to wood surfaces, including the backing, and assemble as per instructions. Put in the shelves and the doors. How the doors line up tells you how square the unit is - have someone push it until the doors fit perfectly and hold it there. Now carefully drill holes for flat metal L-brackets and screw one bracket into each corner at the back of the unit. This will keep it square and since you are drilling into hardwood will make for a very solid book shelf. We are very happy and have it loaded with books. You have to be a little careful when sliding the doors since they are light - use the handle - but overall for the price we are very satisfied."

"I bought three of your products. One required extensive assembly and one required none. I was extremely pleased with both. It was the third item, a bookcase which was not inexpensive, in which I was very displeased. It requires assembly and it is that which is the origin of my complaint. The design is such that when assembled, and with no books on the shelves, the shelves collapsed. What followed was extensive repair of the body and shelves with “Crazy Glue”, wood putty and a great deal of my time. I replaced the four small pins that supported each shelf by insertion into small holes in the side panel which fit into groves under the shelf. Clearly, a poor design, for the small pins could not hold the wooden shelves. I then screwed in 90 degree metal brackets to support the shelves. These brackets supported the shelves extremely well even with books on the shelves. The bookcase is now intact and functioning. However, the doors do not fit. One is flush at the top and the other is flush at the bottom.
Why would any company allow such a poor design to be used in an otherwise attractive product? I don’t mind assembling an item but my money and time spent to do repairs and improve the design was a lot to expect. In the future I would be cautious buying an item from your company that required assembly for fear of an identical incident. Please find a new method for supporting shelves; perhaps my solution of using metal braces. Consider me a very weary and unhappy costumer."
