Dissapointed

"I have a number of gripes about this item:
1. The pre-drilled holes for the door hinges are not properly aligned, and even after redrilling the holes and rehanging the doors, I cannot align them so that the doors close properly. If you notice in the product photo, the doors are shown open, but not closed...
2. The hardware on the inside (for keeping the doors closed, etc. does not match the hardware on the outside (one is brass, the other silver). Perhaps this explains why the instruction manual calls this piece a "TV Armoire" although it is being sold as a wardrobe for clothing...add a clothing rod, and voile!, you have a wardrobe.
3. I discovered that the 'wardrobe' is not deep enough to accommodate my wood hangers, which I use for suits and dress pants - making this piece of furniture far less useful than I had hoped. This can also possibly be explained by the fact that apparently it was once marketed as a TV armoire.
4. Several of this thin pieces used for the bottoms of the drawers and the back of the piece arrived very warped, and it was a struggle to flatten them put enough to assemble the piece. The back is significantly bowed, leaving a gap large enough to put my fist through.
All in all, I am very disappointed with this item. I have bought numerous pieces of furniture from Home Decorators in the past, and was happy with the quality. However, this piece looks and feels much cheaper, despite being one of the more expensive items I have purchased."

Wardrobe a plus!
Date: September 15, 2009
"After assembly, it looks just like the picture and I have received lots of compliments. Assembly was a little time consuming because I had to keep looking at the instructions and the picture and the pieces to figure out how it all went together. But it went together fairly well, once I figured out that I had put a couple of pieces upside down. I thought the workmanship could have been a little better quality, but I understand that not all wood is perfect. After I got it all put together I noticed an indentation or knothole in the front of the wardrobe."

Very difficult assembly

"It took three shipments to get all of the parts. The directions said it would take 2 people 30 mins but it took 3 people about 5 hours to get it together. In the end, it looks nice, but the process to get there just wasn't worth it."

Better than pictured
Date: June 8, 2009
"Wardrobe looks better than pictured, However, parts had dents which appeared to be a result of pieces pressing against them in shipping--not bad enough to warrant the hassle of exchanging. Also, one part had not been pre-drilled. Overall, very pleased with product."
