"I'm happy with this. I don't expect this desk to last forever, but considering the price and materials, I am surprised by how sturdy it looks and feels. Attractive, a good size for my computer and notebooks when I'm doing work. The drawer fits notepads, pens, and other office supplies perfectly. No issues with opening the drawer. Really happy with this purchase and I hope to get some good use out of it."

"For the money spent on this item I thought it would have been a quality piece of furniture, instead it turned out to be particle board with some sort of spray paint coating. The packing left the product scuffed and the fastners would not catch. If it did not cost me to return the thing, that is what I would do, instead I put it in the garage to store my tools on. I will go to the furniture store locally to shop so I can put eyes and hands on before I spend my money on something like this again."

"I ordered the Anna desk in black. It is not a shiny, modern black but a dull finish with a 'worn' look on some edges where red shows through. If you don't like this more distressed look you could probably touch it up with a furniture pen. The desk is 31" high, not 26 as listed!
Assembly took about an hour by myself. All parts and pieces fit and were labeled. The instructions left something to be desired, but it was possible. I was so glad this wasn't an allen wrench job but was disappointed that I couldn't use my power drill for many of the screws. Even using a small screwdriver, my girly little fingers could barely get into some of the tight spots to twist it.
Overall, this is a very nice-looking and pretty sturdy desk. There is ample work space but minimal storage. It's a sleek piece that doesn't have a lot of 'visual bulk' like an executive desk. If you can get away with just one drawer, I recommend this desk for a great look at a low price!
I plan to use the oxford end table as a printer stand (with some extra storage) next to it."

Not worth the money

It looked really good online and the reviews were okay, but after I put the table together, I realised that the top was bended and warped, and hence the drawers would not completely shut. And the table is so wobbly that I would be scared to lean against it. I think this is a very inferior product. Thankfully, the customer service is great and agreed to take the product back immediately for a full refund. Now I have to dismantle the whole thing!!!

"I received the desk and it had a red paint showing thru on the corners in different spots. It looked like red paint was used as the primer. I thouth at first it was wax or something that would not show after putting it together but that was not the case. I ended up calling about it and decided to keep the desk and repaint itl. The style of the desk is good."

"For the money this is a nice desk. I like the style and it looks good with a colorful storage file underneath. My only surprise was that it has some red on it--we thought it was scratched at first-but assuming it's "antiquing""

Simple, elegant clean lines

"I've been looking for a nice-looking, functional desk for a while and this fits the bill. The clean lines make it work with almost any decor. I would have preferred Mission style, but many reviews on this site panned the assembly problems with HDC Mission desk. I had some difficulty with the Anna desk, as well, and it would have helped to have larger, better visuals for the instructions. I had to use a magnifying glass and even then, had to guess at what they were directing me to do. It really required two people. I have purchased furniture from HDC before and didn't have the same problems. The biggest problem is that I want this desk to be facing into the room and clearly, it's designed to not show its back side, but I think a little black polish will help. There were a few finishing flaws on the wood, but very minor. The price was excellent and I'm happy with the end product."

"There is nothing pre-assembled. Drawers were hard to assemble and directions did not have words. I had to take it apart three times before it was correct and I do this alot. I was also disappointed after the purchase that I found it at a local dept. store for the same price and could have saved shipping. But it is a good desk."
