"I had a similar experience to NY - 2009. I ordered the 3x5 size first to see how i liked the rug with my hardwood floors. The golden tones of the leaves & bluish grey background looked wonderful with my hardwood floors, so I ordered the 8x11 size that I needed. Unfortunately the weave of the leaves on the larger rug leave a lot to be desired - they are less defined and the weave is inconsistent compared to the smaller sized rug. The colors are also washed out compared to the smaller size. I'm so disappointed. I really loved the quality and look of the smaller rug, but the large one just won't work."

Lovely, but Not Blue

"I have been wanting this rug for years, and finally purchased the 8x11 in Blue. It really is a lovely print. The various shades of brown/gold are really nice. But just as others have said, if you think it is blue, you are wrong. It is gray, which just a hint of blue-ness to the color. At night it looks quite gray; in the sunlight, perhaps a little more blue-gray. Even so, it is lovely and I do not regret the purchase. We have not noticed the shedding or the smell that others have."

Good rug, but color is NOT BEIGE

"This is a great rug, but the color on the picture is misleading. Real color of the rug is yellow, and the branches are all light beige. The item pictured here looks beige with brown and yellow branches which is completely the opposite of what it really looks. However, the quality of the material is excellent."

"This rug matches my gold and brown tones in the kitchen. I really love the look. It does shed. I've had it for a month and it still sheds, but I would not avoid buying it if you like the colors. I think eventually it will shed less. Just a pain right now because it is in the kitchen and gets a decent amount of traffic."

"I ordered this rug in the large round size and color dark brown. It is absolutely beautiful and a very high quality rug. I have it over plush carpet and it is the only rug that is willing to lay flat without a rug pad. It just makes the room. I am very pleased with the the quality, color and price !!!"

"The rugs I ordered did not look like the picture the color was different. Two of the rugs looked the same although not like the picture and one looked like the picture but did not match the other 2. I kept the 2 rugs that matched each other because the color still looked okay in the room I was putting them in."

"I first ordered the smallest version of the rug to be sure I liked the color and contemporary design. I returned the tiny one and ordered an 8x10. When placed on the very dark walnut floors in my living room, the room immediately brightened up and warmed up the room. My furniture is very classic traditional and the addition of a contemporary area rug made the room.
I only have it a week and am hoping it will be maintained through normal usage. I was concerned when I had ordered the small sample and thought it looked a worn and sent an email. I received a response immediately and am pleased to say that the rug I received was in nice condition."

"I bought this based on the extra long length available for a very long entryway hallway - the 2x14 size is great. Only problem is the thickness of the rug does not allow it to be right up against the front door so we have placed it farther down the hall and have a very small, flat rug for shoes before this runner. The rug takes several days to flatten out and we are still trying to get one fold to 'release' - it was rolled when delivered. Overall very nice design and true to the photos."

"The rug is very nice and fits well in the room but the color was not what was pictured in the catalog or online. However, one is warned that the picture may not reflect true color tones so, I must say, I was warned. Nevertheless, the colors were close enough to match the other colors in the room. Previous rug purchases were almost identical to the pictures so I was somewhat surprised."

"I have been looking everywhere for this size rug (aprox 3 X 5') and finally found one on HDC. The rug is a true dark chocolate color and has a deep thick pile. It came rolled up with great packaging and flattened out within a day. The silk leaf part is not shiny and looks rich (I was a little concerned about this). It shed a little for the first few days, but no more. It looks great with all our espresso colored furniture and sisal rug."

"I purchased the 5x7 first and was very happy with the carpet. Then purchased the 8x10 and the quality was not the same. The carpet is wrinkled and taking to long to settle. It appears that the carpet was not rolled properly. The color is also not as rich as in the smaller area rug. The chocolate is washed out looking, lighter than it should be. I am contemplating on returning it. Not loving this one."
