"This is my Favorite purchase from HomeDecorators.com. I am so proud of it and it gets more compliments than anything else in my home. However, I am glad it was not my 1st Assembly Required purchase! I really took my time, paid attention to the details and was extra careful. This was not a project for the 'back closet' or the laundry room. I wanted the drawer to slide perfectly and for the doors to hang evenly. In fact, I had to re-hang one of the doors 3 times but it was well worth the effort. My cabinet sits proudly in my living room, center stage where it belongs!
For the reviewer who gave the cabinet low marks, all I can say is, perhaps it was their first Assemble Yourself attempt? It IS after all, an acquired skill. Also, patience helps.
Another tip, I recommend using wood glue in addition to the connectors to secure joining the seams. Otherwise the stability of the cabinet will become loose after awhile; especially if you move it to a new location. Also, you might consider substituting plywood cut to fit the exact size of the back instead of the cheap piece of cardboard for this and other Assemble Yourself furniture. Buy paint to match the color and paint the plywood. When you are done assembling everything else except joining the back, paint the custom cut plywood and then, drill holes in the correct spots and then join the plywood to the piece of Self-Assembled furniture (after also first using Wood Glue). That will REALLY increase the stability and integrity of your furniture!
