"Impressed with the overall quality. Solid once together. Takes some time to put it all together, but well worth it. Be sure to look thru the directions from beginning to end and set aside about 2 hours to complete it. The cushion is a bit odd - kind of cheezy - and will most likely find its way out the door... but other than than, this is one of the nicest put together pieces of furniture I have ever come across."

"This bench is exactly what I needed to complete the room. It arrived in two separate boxes. All the pieces were clearly marked. There were a few questions on the directions but we figured it all out by looking at the pictures. It doesn't look like a "do it yourself" piece of furniture. We bought the larger model 60" long with 4 baskets. It looks exactly like the photo online. It is very sturdy and provides much needed additional storage space. I love it and the price was terrific."

"I ordered the bench for extra seating in the living room and needed storage for my 7 yr.old son's toys. I was alittle disappointed about the cushions. It advertised as black and I got mahogany. My husband and my 17yr. old son put the bench together and it took them 2 hours from start to finish. I'm glad I read the reviews before I purchased this product of how long and difficult to put this item together."

"I really like this piece. Assebly was not easy however. The instructions are only somewhat helpful. They should provide a lot more detail.
That said, now that it's assembled and in my living room, I am thrilled with my purchase. I live in a 100 year old Victorian greystone building which has some very small rooms. This bench is perfect for small spaces. I'd recommend it, but plan on 4-5 hours assembly, at least."

"The bench is just as pictured. Good craftsmanship, but the exterior does scratch easily. The directions do warn you that the finish is sensitive and to put the bench together on a soft surface such as carpet. This is recommended as we only had room to put it together on the hardwood and it strached/scruffed the sides. Some of the camlocks didn't go in easily but still overall great product."

"This is a very nice piece of furniture, but the assembly was not easy. It took me about four hours to get it together. Granted, I'm not very handy which I'm sure is attributable to some of the longer time. However, the "Some Assembly Required" statement which is associated with the website listing is not an accurate disclosure. It should read, "Complete Assembly Required." Still, it is a very nice piece and we love how it looks in our entry way."

"The bench arrived in just a couple of days. It was fairly easy to put together and all the parts were included. The bench looks nice, is sturdy enough for large people to sit on, and has lots of storage. The leather cushion is well made and fits perfectly. It is just what we were looking for in our entryway. Good value. Will purchase from this site again."

"I know that others have mentioned that there was some difficulty with assembly. I believe if you read the assembly instructions prior to starting, it really is pretty easy. Takes some time but comes together nicely. The assembled product is awesome. Certainly passes for high quality furniture. I loved it so much, I'm now waiting for UPS to deliver a matching table!"

"With very dark floors in a very dusty area, we needed a place to make it easy to remove shoes, store them and have a place to set packages, keys and other stuff. This fulfills all those needs in a very attractive piece.
It was easy enough for a 50+ woman to put together alone. It was short a few screws to attach handles."

"The reviewers are right: the directions were terrible, and the "dark oak" is much more red than brown. However, the piece is a decent deal. I paid my boyfriend's son (14) $35 to put it together, so the total for the bench, shipping, and assembly was about $300--not bad for a decent piece that is not wobbly and pretty well built.
Now, if technical writers could just revise those dang directions...."

"I liked the look of this bench after installation and it provides the extra storage I was looking for in my upstairs hallway, as well as somewhere to sit while I'm helping my kids get ready for bed or get up in the morning. It was a little difficult to assemble, but if you follow the instructions exactly and figure out how the pieces fit together before actually trying to get them in place, it did work out ok. Pay close attention to where the finished edges will go, that helped us figure things out. The price was OK, for the item."

"The Craftsman Gossip Bench arrived in two packages on different days. All parts were present, with a few extras of the small parts. The packaging protected the wood very well, as there were no dents or scratches, but it was difficult to get fragments of styrofoam off the pieces. Assembly was pretty easy by the diagrams, even in a small room where I had to do it. One step wasn't clear, but I figured it out before I made a mistake. The final piece is very attractive and strong and makes a nice addition to an office that already had higher-end craftsman-style furniture. My wife loves it, and I think it is a very good-looking piece."
