"this is the best gripping pad i have ever seen,(no kidding),and i'm not getting paid anything to say it!!.i have this pad under a rug that is on the most slippery floor you've ever seen,and the rug DOES NOT BUDGE.i'm very impressed,and the price was so cheap,too.I will be buying more non-slip rug pads only from HD,because of the quality and price."

"I had previously purchased something similar from a local Bed & Bath store and they were nowhere near to the quality of these. Someone mentioned that they ran small; I didn't find that. In fact, I use double-sided carpet tape to attach them to my rugs and had to cut them all down a bit. Someone mentioned they were smelly; guess that's true if you stuck your nose in them but I haven't noticed anything."

"It's more like that stuff you might buy to line your kitchen or bathroom drawers with, the no-slip stuff. It definitely serves that purpose, but there's also definitely not any "cushion" or "padding" to it. Fortunately, the rug I've put it under is very thick and plush anyway, so not a big deal for me, just be aware."

"Be sure to check the actual size of the mat/cushion before you order. I thought I was getting a 4x6' mat; but it was FOR a 4x6' rug - it was much smaller. This was my problem; but just a notice to check the physical, size for the application you need"

"Approximate" is used VERY loosely. Date: January 8, 2010
"I ordered the 4' x 6' pad for the Optics area rug on this site. (In the 3'6" x 5'6" size.) From reading other reviews, I figured if it arrived "small" it would still fit underneath, and if it arrived to size, I could trim it.

Yeah right.

The pad arrived nearly an entire foot short on each side! (3'2" x 5'1")

Since the Optics area rug doesn't have a very rough underside, and the pad still covers most of the area underneath, I'm still keeping it.

I would still recommend this to a friend, but I would advise them to estimate the rug size up, and THEN order the pad in another size up from that.

It has a slight smell, but I expect it to dissipate within the next week."

"I bought two non-slip rug cushions so that the new carpet runners I was also buying wouldn't slip and slide on the hardwood floor. They do jut job just fine, and I didn't need any "cushion" or "pad." But its a good thing, because these are barely thickger than a few sheets of paper, and don't "cushion" anything. I'm happy with them, because I bought them for their "non-slip" properties. But if someone were buying thinner rugs (mine are braided) and felt a need to cushion them to protect the floor and rug alike, these would not be the ones to buy."
