"You usually can tell the quality of a product by the weight of the wood. If I could have caught the delivery men who left the two extremely heavy packages outside my lower level garage, I would have had them carry them up to my front door. It took me the better part of the morning (just before it they would have rained on) to get them upstairs. I actually had to open the package to take out a piece at a time until it got light enough to carry. It would serve you well to have more than one person available to carry them. That aside, I slowly put together the unit. I said slowly because some of the directions are not totally coherent. Someone translates these instructions...but not very well. I ended up with a couple of mistakes that, if I wanted to take the time, I probably could correct. I ended up with the bottom stand backwards with the hardware facing out...should have been reversed...but it would stake a lot of work to correct it and I decided that it still looked ok. The other important thing to note as has been done before, is that it absolutely will not free stand on it's own. You need to attach it to the wall...don't think you can get away without it. Also worth noting is that the instructions advise that you have two people assemble it. Realistically, I don't know how you could do it by yourself without major difficulties. It's just too heavy to hold, adjust and screw by yourself. As I said, the unit is quality, looks good and completely serves the purpose. Just be aware of some of the pitfalls."
