"This is a very pretty piece, but it doesn't match well over our mantel, which is what I bought it for. The colors blend instead of contrast with the bricks over the mantel. Will be returning and using a different item over mantel. It's very well made and is good quality. It's just the color scheme that doesn't work."

"This is a nice piece and a great value. I agree with some of the other comments about the color, so I was prepared for the blue-looking metal to be dark gray. I'm pretty handy with a paint brush, so I'm planning to paint it a teal color ... not a biggie at all, as I often change the color of things that don't quite fit the room. I'm happy with the product."

"I love the Cortland metal wall art, but was a little disappointed in the color. The ring around the inside medallion looks aqua or blue in the picture. It is in fact a dark gray and looks black on the wall. Only in certain light does it look metallic gray/or blue. I was disappointed in that. The color in the photos is not very accurate in my opinion.
However the piece itself is beautiful. Even though it isn't exactly what I hoped for, I like it well enough to keep it."

"The actual product turned out to be quite close to the picture on the Home Decorators website. The only thing different was that the inner cramic mould is not as bright and shinny as shown in the picture. I was expecting it to be golden, when it turned out to be of a dull light earth color. However, its not so bad if there is an accent light directed towards it. Also, the thing I missed was a hook/screw to mount it on the wall. I had to rummage through my hardware box to find the right mount. Not everyone has this handy, so it will be good if Home Decorators can provide a mounting hook/screw with the product.
Nevertheless, the piece looks awesome over the fireplace."
