"[The picture shown on this page is a narrow version. The 40.5 in wide has 5 hooks and is wide enough for 2 people to squeeze in vs the single size shown here.]This is just what I was looking for! The assembly took about 6 hours for one person, as part had to be pre-assembled to support the installation of another section, then assebled fully in proper sequence. It wold be much easier if a second person was available to hold the section in place.
There is a pdf of slightly different instructions available online.
It has very sturdy construction. The only con is the pistons that hold open the lid spring up about 1/2" when it is "closed", maybe there is some adjustment not in the instruction."

"I did some research before deciding on this Hall Tree, and the prices I found were a lot higher. I read the reviews and decided to buy. We didn't need to buy any longer wood screws, but then again we don't have children. I love it! It fits perfectly by my front door. I would have loved to have the wider one, but didn't quite have the room. The storage seat is really handy for my little dog's leash, sweaters, and baggies, even room enough for a blanket. The seat doesn't slam shut, either, which is nice. The color is different than I thought, it's a bit like a light brown mustard, but I really like it. My neighbor saw us putting it together, and she is ordering one, too. It took about an hour, my husband is really good at assembling and he didn't need my help. I would highly recommend this product to anyone needing to tidy up the entrance to their home with a really well-made hall tree for the money."

"Item was shipped to old address for some reason but when I called, the customer sercice rep contacted UPS and had it rerouted to the correct address. Great customer service! When it arrived I was home alone and decided to attempt to assemble it by myself. The instructions were very clear and it took about 4 hours to assemble with no help. I am sure this would have been cut in half with some assistence as this is a tall and fairly heavy piece as it is all solid wood. Once it was assembled I did wait for my wife to come home to assist me in moving it to the location we intended it for. It fit perfectly and looks great. Great value!!!"

"I ordered the standard size hall tree in the antique cream and it showed up a mustardy-pea soup color. I was so surprised because the cream advertised on the website looks like a faded white. What a surprise when the actual piece shows up. I returned it since the color was so off. The good news was that the customer service at Home Decorators was outstanding! No hassles with the return and they picked up the shipping both ways."

"I abosolutely LOVE my wall tree. I purchased it for my breezeway and it looks perfect. The bench has a lot of storage. It's VERY well made. Would recomend this to anyone!! Very Pleased!!"

"We finally got to put together our hall tree.
As we pulled the pieces out of the box, we noticed that the color had a green tint to it.
We thought it might be the lighting in our home.
So, we took out the rest of the pieces, and they all looked the same way. We continued to put it together, and it was not the antique white I thought I was getting. It did have a green tint to it. The piece is very cute, but I am not to pleased with the color."

"I bought this for my mudroom and it was pretty easy to install. The back brace isn't cut correctly so it doesn't sit flush with the pieces but it still works fine and is sturdy (the screws were actually long enough, despite other reviews). I assembled it by myself - although the top half is pretty heavy and it would definitely help to have someone else help line it up on top of the bench part. I didn't so I was sore the next day :)
It fits perfectly in the room, the only problem i have is that some of the pieces were slightly off in color from others but it still looks fine - no one else besides me would probably look at it that hard or long enough to notice.
I bought the antique white and its more like a buttery color and in some lights, may look greenish but it's still beautiful!
The price was perfect and I got it during the 20% sale a few weeks ago. I'm very satisfied with my purchase!"

"I put this in my entryway. It looks so nice. The bench is very good sized. It holds all my sons Karate and football equipment so it's not all over the house. It's very solid to sit on. It took me a few hours working by myself to assemble and a few parts do need 2 people so I called my husband to help. It was much cheaper than similar products I've found but looks great!"

"I ordered this along with 3 other items from the set and love them all. It's a great look for my cottage-style home.
These are not too difficult to put together but make sure you have a power screwdriver as there are a lot of parts
Save room in your garbage for the styrafoam as there's a lot in the shipping box"

"I am pleased with the Hall Tree except for the color. On the website it says Antique Cream and the picture looks Antique Cream, but when I received it the color is a lot more yellow than cream. I want to keep it and will be painting it and may sand it some so it will look more aged. My room is painted Sage and the trim is Cream and it is much too yellow to look good in that room."

"I also bought the matching storage cabinet with this, which I thought was a little flimsy. Not so with this hall tree bench!! It is great, It went together very well & is absolutely sturdy. It looks fantastic & I would recommend this to anyone, especially for the value. I saw other reviews before buying, complaining about the bench not opening up all the way, but it seems great to me. I think they must have put it together wrong because, no problems here."

"First of all it came in the wrong color. It was more green than cream as it shows in the picture. Wasn't to hard to put together, seemed fairly sturdy. However, the very last part which is the top shelf as I put the screws in as it said to the wood at the top started splitting! So that was very irritating to get through all the directions and have that happen. I did still keep it and it's serving its purpose. Probably will need to paint it though."

"as the style of the hall tree is great - the picture depicts and what we ordered was to be a white color - when product arrives it looks like split pea green - it would cost more to ship back than to paint it ourselves - this was ordered as a Christmas gift but arrived late January, also when putting this together - the top left hand side split - once again cheaper to make the repair with wood putty than to ship item back. So I am at best moderately happy with the item."

"I searched high and low for an affordable hall tree for my newly remodeled mudroom. The value of the ones I found in local stores were less desirable. This is a sturdy unit that looks beautiiful. I was very thankful that the packing of the unit (two boxes) was re-enforced with packing material since the shipping boxes were punctured and dented. Assmenbly was very straight forward and quick. I would highly recommend having more than one person to lift and assemble the piece."
