"Purchased this bench to go with coat rack of similar color. I like the bench, it's goes well with what I had wanted. The quality seems good, not cheap! However, I broke a sweat putting this bench together and some holes didn't line up. I had to get my husband to help me force the holes to line up!! Then there are other holes that are miss drilled that don't line up with anything. Overall, I'm satisfied with this bench but it's maybe priced a bit high for the final product and effort."

"The bench had good appearance and serves the purpose. However, the assembly was diffcult mainly because of poor workmanship. Some of the panels were warped and I had to use clamps to make things fit."

"Purchased to provide storage and seating in a small studio apartment. This bench serves this purpose beautifully. The sale price and free shipping tempted me to buy and I don't regret it. Assembly was a cinch and took all of 2 hours. Although some people with little or no experience or limited mobility may need assistance. The cushion is nice and firm although I will whip up a custom cover to match my décor. Very happy :)"

"When finished this bench looks good, but I was not prepared for the amount of assembly that it took. I have purchased pieces from Home Decorators before and has to attach feet or arms, but this piece came in a flat box and took hours to assemble. In addition the hardware is so cheaply made that the cam screws twist and bend as you try to use them. I would not purchase this item again."

"Product was much nicer & the wood much more durable than i had expected after reading the reviews. The color is as pictured, wish it had been lighter or white but i can always paint it. It is a mess getting it unpackaged but it's an easy mess to clean. Much rather have ALL the styrofoam, than a broken product. Overall it was the perfect size for what i was looking for and have no complaints"

"I purchased two for storage in our play room, quality is fair for the price, not top of the line. I may recover the cushion. It does not hold as much as I thought it would. It is good for the playroom I would not want it for my living room or bedroom."

"Once this bench went together, it looked great. However, some of my complaints were the same as others. Packing material was everywhere. I had to vacuum each piece as I unpacked it, and still there was styrofoam "lint" everywhere. Using the directions provided were confusing, and some where just incorrect. However, moving forward with common sense, I was able to assemble this with no more problems and completed the assembly in about 1 hour and I am a 63 year old woman. So if you can't do it, or take longer than an hour, you are probably lacking the common sense part of the equation. I love this bench....it's exactly what I wanted."

"I like this bench, and it looks nice in our bathroom, but I agree with those reviewers who said the assembly was very difficult. The sides didn't seat properly and it looked like the holes were drilled wrong. It's finally together and it works, but I was about ready to give up. Home Decorators, you need to talk with your manufacturer."

"This bench is in dining room and is large capacity storage. Functional, strong and attractive. Only downside is assembly. If I did not have a friend to assemble this item I would have had to return it."

"The assembly on this bench was a real bear. It began with mistakes on the direction sheet that caused me to glue dowels in the wrong holes and later pry them out and continued with a lack of plumbed sides, dowels that were too long and screws that were so picky my dad ended up having to measure them to ensure they would fit together. When dropping on the bottom a dowel shot straight through the bottom and tore a hole in the base. It looks great now that it's together and I'm happy to see it sitting there, but I'm not sure the assembly was worth the trouble."

"Garbage. Is Really what I would call it. Fasteners don't hold and side panel caved in by wooden pegs that were too large for poorly drilled holes. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED and only reason I did not return it was that did not want to clean up for hours after finally getting the styrofoam pellets of my body from the disintegrated packaging."

"Used these for kids toy storage in our living area. Holds a large amount of things, however, once safety hinges are in place for assembly, lid does not open very far, maybe 10 inch opening to be able to throw things in. Otherwise, a great storage bench!!!! LOVE THEM!"

Creative use of Storage Bench

We have recently moved into a much smaller home, and with three cats we needed a unique litter box solution.
My brilliant husband bought this bench, cut circular wholes in each end for the cats to enter and we have placed their litter boxes (2) inside the storage area. we did not install the hinges on the lit so it would open fulllly to clean the boxes. No one can even tell ther is a litter box in the office because it sits in front of the window and the entrance wholes are not that obvious.
Great quality, maybe excessive for a cat box, but we we are thrilled with the end result.

"I searched alot of sites trying to find a window seat that would fit in my window. And I found this one which was 60". Perfect--I had a 65" opening, the color goes well with my decor. Shipping was fast."

"Went together with relative ease. It took about two hours or so. We have put together several pieces of furniture, so we have some experience. You will need a screw driver. The pieces are sort of heavy, but all in all it wasn't too bad. We would have preferred a dark brown, but we will paint this piece to match our other furniture"

"This bench looks great and is worth what I paid for it. The only issue I had was the instructions being unclear. I pretty much winged it- put everything together first then set it on the base and have help! I did it by myself and had some frustration but got it done and am very pleased with the results."
