"Had a bit of a time assembling it. Some of the dowels were too long. This caused a crack in the wood . Fortunately it is where it can't be seen. But we do like it and it looks great"

"As other reviewers mentioned, this is not the easiest piece of furniture to assemble - would be best to have 2 people to arrange the pieces into the place. Otherwise, quite happy with the look and feel of the bench, particularly for the price."

"I purchased 2 of these. The packing was excellent and everything arrived in great condition. The workmanship and quality control left me disappointed. One of the units had a glue pack that had turned plastic in the middle and was water all around the outside. All of the twist lock holes were oversized. Several of the twist lock mechanisms broke during assembly. The fit is not sufficiently precise compared to other units I have assembled. The finishes of the units were good but I am concerned about durability due to the bad twist locks."

"I have put together tons of this type of furniture and so approached this with no fear and all tools ready to go. i was pleasantly surprised to find each type of bolt/washer/screw etc individually marked in seperate bags...nice (not the norm). Thereafter it got messy. the supplied wood glue had soliified in the tube.. delay number 1. The first few assembly steps were clearly described and easy. This was for each side panel, roof and bottom and what pieces go where. Turn over to the next page, and the next instruction is to put them all together....one tiny diagram depicing 6 sides including all needed nuts/bolts etc. Here is the problem, there is a logical order to put the various peices together, dpending on what bolts are already attached to each panel. Needless to say it took a while to figure out, and 1 or 2 attempts that hasd to be undone. I got there in the end, but better instructions would have cut down on the assembly time by half. I have never commented on any of these self assembly type furniture before as I have never really had any issues before. All being said and done, the unit is very nice and solid. i like the lid functionality which stays open....so as not to slam shut and hurt the babys fingers when let go."

"I desperately needed some storage in my kitchen for my cake decorating tools and supplies and this fit the bill perfectly. I purchased this in two sizes to fit my wall and the bead board detail matched the bead board on the wall perfectly! The safety hinge is great with the kids too.
It provides extra seating and makes the room open up too.
We put the smaller one together first and worked the kinks out so it took no time at all to put the big one together."

"I needed a small toy box for my daughter's room and this seemed to fit the bill. I did love how everything was clearly marked as to all the many pieces. My husband assembled this and used his own Elmer's wood glue as the glue included was like water. He also said the cam bolts were very ill fitting. He made it work and I think it will be just fine, it's just the parts seem to be sub-standard."

"Great looking and sturdy. Assembly a bit tricky and back of it cracked in 2 spots as I assembled. The type of screws used are a bit cumbersome. But when it's done it's a very nice piece."

"Product is great and a good place for my son to throw his shoes instead of the hallway! It's attractive and wasn't to difficult to put together. My only complaint is that it was on back order for abou 3 months."

"I was a bit worried about assembly; no need to. It was easy to put together, although at one point I did need an extra pair of hands to help line up all the pegs and cambolts. I bought 2 different sizes and both went together with ease. The locking hinge is great. Once assembled, they seem sturdy and are certainly very servicable."

"This was a disappointment. Although advertised as a wooden bench, it was made of particle board. The assembly directions were minimally adequate. The cam-locks (holding the thing together) would not stay in the "locked" position. It will probably fall apart soon."

"The item was worth the wait although it was almost 3 months. The assembly directions were my only complaint. They could have been clearer. Step 3 should have had better pictures & it should have been multiple steps. I wish I had called a day earlier because the larger item was on sale & had free shipping. I missed out on that after that LONG wait. Still love the item, it looks great in my bathroom. Wonder where I could get a cushion for it??"

"This bench is more beautiful and substantial in person that it appears in the catalog. It took two of us to put it together with little effort but a lot of organizing of materials ahead of time. The storage space is a bit more narrow than expected, but it still holds quite a bit. I would definitely recommend it to others."
