"This is a nice accent light, but it is not enough for a reading light. If there is sunlight in the room or another lamp is on in the room, it is enough to use to read, but the light is very directional, and the lamp has to be right over the book to read by. It looks great, but I question the wisdom of making a mirror finish chrome surface lamp touch on touch off-- you will be wiping fingerprints, but it is very manageable, and it isn't really noticable from across the room until it gets really printed up. The biggest plus for this lamp is style, and it looks smashing!"

"Many words can be used to describe this creative lamp, but elegant and classy most definitely adjectives that come to the finger tips as I write this review.
I read some reviews of this lamp before I decided to make the purchase. Since I am really using this as a decorative piece on a purchase of the black, Oxford 36"w/3-shelf bookcase with glass doors, I was hesitant to "purchase without seeing in person." I am thrilled I went with my gut feeling and made the purchase.
If one was using the lighting for more than decor and reflective patterns on the ceiling and walls, you may think twice. It should only be considered for reading at a desk or paying bills (the traditional way). This is not a lamp for flooding a room with light. If that is what you're seeking, this should not be in your choices.
It arrives carefully packed, requires no assembly (except to plug in the electrical adapter chord to the back of the lamp and into your wall socket).
As it states, complete with a soft white glove for unpacking. And it IS turned on and off by a touch of a finger (sounds cheesy, but far from it). I didn't need to worry about leaving finger prints. (If one did have dirty fingers, it also works by touching the back of your hand anywhere on the sleek arch.)
Definitely a stylish lamp which neighbors are asking about. (Lucky for me, if they bought one like it, it wouldn't go as well in their home, as it does with my decor!) :-)
Feel free to recommend or buy this, but it is very modern and may not look good with all decors of warm woods, etc.

"I carefully retrieved it from it's numerous layers of protection and found a simple cotton white glove! Gotta Love that! No assembly needed except the light would not come on. Cut to the chase, I had to remove the plexiglass protecting the bulb, and unscrew, fiddle with, the actual electric conduit and presto it came on. Reassembling is only for the dextrous! note: I was going to return it however i spotted my mother banging on it saying, "it comes on when you do this"! If mothers weren't mothers i'd have had to send it back!"

"A spectacular example of "less is more". A graceful arc of chrome makes a dramatic statement, in as simple a way as possible. The LED bulb uses only 3 watts of power, but lights up the area beneath it better than any 100 watt lamp I've ever used. I had to have it, when I saw it in the catalog; but am even more impressed with it, on my desk. Not as inexpensive as some lamps, but worth every penny."

"This lamp is beautiful! Doesn't put off tons of light, but perfect on a small desk. My only negative comment is that when I use my mouse, the clicks of the mouse turn the light on and off. Can be annoying at times, but generally just makes me chuckle."

"This lamp is just what I needed on my computer desk, where it was too dark to see clearly at night. It is not too large, so it doesn't take up alot of room.
